BlackBerry Pearl 8220 coming in silver, too

blackberry-pearl-8220-silver.jpg

We’ve already known about burgundy and black versions of RIM’s first flip, but silver? Sure looks like it from new images posted on Spanish site miblackberry.com, and frankly, we think it’s the most flattering color combo we’ve seen to date. Then again, the phone is so frickin’ huge in person that it could end up being a totally excessive amount of shiny, metallic plastic in your face when you crack it open — but from the press shots, at least, color us impressed (pun intended). T-Mobile, any interest in this one, too?

RIM BlackBerry Kickstart detailed further in Flip Experience

5-28-08-kickstart.jpg

Dont be ashamed, you are out to get every last morsel of Kickstart goodness before RIM’s first flip phone ever hits the market. On the docket today is a half dozen slides detailing the Flip Experience, essentially spilling the painfully mundane minutiae of how the handset will function while talking, receiving a text message, showing alerts and playing music. Nothing too mesmerizing or unexpected, but the Matt Damon hateration is totally out of left field.

BlackBerry 8300 Curve to hit Rogers in June?

rogerscurve.jpg

Rumor has it that the BlackBerry Curve is gonna land at Rogers come early June and while the info we have is pretty sketchy, a refresh of their current stable does make good clean sense. We’ve hammered out the details on RIM’s new offering again and again, so we won’t give that a rehash, but suffice it to say, the lighter, prettier and QWERTY-capable Curve will make many a business user grin. Bring it on we say, bring it on, and of course as per usual, if you have more info for us to round out the news on this, drop us a line.

BlackBerry 8830 Cyclone peeped with Verizon branding

verizonbb8830.jpg

As mentioned a few days ago, Verizon Wireless seems to be prepping for the release of a new dual mode version of the venerable Blackberry 8800, christened the 8830. With this handy bit of tech you will be able to use CDMA radio while in the States (and maybe Canada?) and switch over to that good old fashioned GSM love while abroad. The pic above clearly shows the 8830 in silver, while the images in our last article seem to show it in black. No other solid info is available, but you can be sure we will be updating as the news and details trickle in.

“Missing Sync” for Mac OS X / BlackBerry about to hit shelves

8700c-mac.jpgMac OS X aficionado? Check. RIM BlackBerry user? Check. Syncing a Mac and a BlackBerry? Not so fast — until now. While RIM has had official syncing software available for years on the Windows platform, the faithful Mac crowd has once again been left behind. But, with Mac shipments upping the pace recently, perhaps hardware vendors will need to soon think again, eh? New “Missing Sync” software from Mark/Space is now available in a “public preview” format that allows Mac OS X users to synchronize data on their beloved Macs with their beloved BlackBerry smartphones — with no unofficial hack needed. The solution uses a standard USB tethering cable and appears to be functional with many newer BlackBerry handsets, and owners of the BlackBerry Pearl and newer BlackBerry 8800 series handsets can even sync iPhoto albums and iTunes playlists. Although The Missing Sync isn’t officially sanctioned RIM software, Mark/Space says that full release is expected by the end of March. You’ll need Mac OS X version 10.4.8 and a BlackBerry handset running version 4.0 of RIM’s BlackBerry OS.

Blackberry 7130v coming to the UK and US in July?

Even though Cingular has already brought us the Blackberry 7130c, we’ve still been itching to get our hands on the other versions, including the slick new 7130v, ever since we caught the FCC pictures of them a few weeks ago. Thankfully, it looks our wait might finally be coming to an end. The same forum that has been surprisingly accurate when it comes to blowing up RIM’s spot in the past is reporting that the “enterprise friendly” devices will be hitting the UK on T-Mobile and Vodaphone in July, with the T-Mobile US version hitting around the same time. We think waiting another month for our fix of EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 and the ever-addictive SureType is far too long. Our Treo, on the other hand, is keeping its fingers crossed for an indefinite delay.
