While we’re seeing more Linux-powered mobile phones, not a single such device brought the navigation with it. Truth to be told, Nokia is pushing its 770 and N800 Internet Tablets with navigation apps, but those two devices are not mobile phones. Finally, China-based Tranzda showed its PM328, a thin (16 mm) smartphone with integrated GPS navigation. The device itself runs Tranzda’s “Newplus” software on top of the Linux core, and for navigation it uses u-blox’s navigation app. In terms of connectivity, the PM328 supports Bluetooth and USB connections.
The new device is now in China, and it is not yet know whether it will be available in the western world.

This new product from Samsung has QWERTY keyboard feature, and the built in headset is very exciting, The P110 mobile phone has blend smartphone functionality with the ease of use of a regular mobile phone. The P110 was designed for easy to use messaging device, it’s will be very convinent when the screen is flipped and landscape mode. Unfortunately, the handset is expected to pack only a VGA camera (which is somewhat disappointing, especially after Samsung managed to squeeze in a 3 megapixel camera in their only 5.9 mm thick mobile phone), a media player with support for several audio and video file formats, 25MB internal memory but apparently no card slot, Bluetooth with stereo headset support, instant messaging, speaker phone and tri-band GMS/GPRS/EDGE support.

As India adds 6-7 million mobile connections every month, users remain blissfully unaware that there are almost 200 variants of malware that can get into their phones, jam them and wipe out the entire address book, data and music files while they perform an everyday task of connecting to the Internet, using a Wi-Fi network, or employing the increasingly popular Bluetooth or infra-red technologies to transfer or download data.
While mobile carriers like Bharti Airtel, MTNL, Hutch and others do have security systems in place for wired communication, not a single Indian service provider can detect and kill viruses when mobile handsets communicate (over-the-air or OTA) wirelessly. Currently, to detect and kill such viruses, mobile users need to have anti-virus software on their mobiles (which most users do not install). If mobile carriers, however, were to start scanning every message (or packets of data) relayed to the handsets, 25-30 per cent of the smartphone users (almost 40-50 million users of the 160 million mobile phone users in India) would not have to worry about mobile virus/security threats, contend experts.

We feel like we can barely tell the difference between the white KRZR from Moto and the original gray — especially if you squint your eyes a bit — but choice is always good nonetheless, and to that end Telus has added the paler variant to its lineup. Going toe to toe with the K1m in the high-fashion game, Samsung’s u510 has also found its way onto the CDMA carrier (look familiar?) with a 220 x 176 display, 1.3 megapixel cam, microSD slot — something its Helio doppelganger lacks — and touch-sensitive controls. Grab your white KRZR for the same price as its grayer counterpart, $149 CDN — or a u510 for $50 CDN less, $100, both on a three-year agreement.
